Port of Nashville: OctoRye

This blend was born from two thoughts. First, instead of trying to mimic Midwinter’s Night Dram, could we beat it? The second inspiration was having tried Four Gate’s Port Perry Perry. It is phenomenal whiskey and is everything that MWND should be! So, could we make a blend that came anywhere near the Four Gate?
After sampling dozens of ryes and taking notes for each, we set to the task. Multiple blending sessions later, we felt we had created something that we can be proud of and more importantly, something that we enjoy drinking!
In case the name didn’t give it away, the final blend consists of eight different whiskeys and is 100.3 proof. We then aged the blend in a 2 liter port finished barrel for 43 days.
