A Midwinter Nights Scam

For my second batch of this blend, I yet again reused my original 2L barrel and filled it with a blend of cheap Taylor Tawny Port and Taylor Cream Sherry. I let that soak into the barrel for 36 days before pouring it out. I then decided to keep the original recipe and added a handle of Bulleit Rye and 525ml of Pikesville Rye and let it age for 24 days as the barrel’s effect on the whiskey is much subdued from multiple uses. The resulting blend is 94.6 proof and has beaten a few of the more recent MWND releases in blind tastings!
